Wet chemical fire extinguishers are not designed for use on electrical equipment, but in the modern kitchen environment, it is hard to avoid electricity cables. Hence, if the extinguisher is used in error on live electrical equipment, the spray of the Wet Chemical fire extinguisher is non-conductive, and passes the BS EN3 35,000V dielectric test as defined by BSEN3-7:2004 ).
Refilling/Servicing: Should be carried out annually to BS 5306 Part 3, 2009. After complete or partial use the extinguisher should be refilled to BS 6643 Part 1, 1985. Both refilling and servicing to be carried out by a competent person.
